Engine 40/Ladder 17/TMS 5 branch of the Detroit Fire Department will host its 15th Annual Back-to-School Event on Saturday, August 31, 2013 from 11am-6pm. There will be giveaways for students and tons of fun for all! The event is located on Detroit's West Side at the corner of Dexter and Ewald Circle. Admission is free, and open to the public.
The Wayne County Community College District School of Continuing Education and Workforce Development is sponsoring an Expunge Your Record Workshop, Saturday, September 5, 2013 from 6:00pm-8:00pm at the University Center located at 19305 Vernier Rd., Harper Woods, MI 48225. This workshop provides participants with the processes and procedures to expunge a criminal record. Participants will gain information on parameters of who qualifies for record expungement, proper presentation within the court system, and employment opportunities and voting rights of convicted felons.
