Section 1136(6) of the Revised School Code, MCL 380. 1136(6), requires Detroit Public Safety Academy, as a public school academy, to prepare a list of uses or instances that the academy commonly discloses regarding a student’s directory information.
“Directory information” means information contained in a student’s education record that would not generally be considered harmful or an invasion of privacy if disclosed. Please see the letter below for more information.
If you DO NOT wish for your student's directory information to be included under the academy's "list of uses", please download, complete and submit the "Opt Out Form" below. Please refer to the form for the three (3) different ways in which you can return the form. If you have any questions, please contact the academy during regular business hours.
