Open Enrollment

Detroit Public Safety Academy is accepting enrollment applications for 2019-2020, grades 6-12, April 8-May 3, at 1250 Rosa Parks Blvd, Detroit, 313.965.6916. If necessary, a public lottery will take place on May 10, 2019 at 2:00 pm. The academy will be open for enrollment opportunities the following dates/times: April 10 & 17, 2019 from 4:00 pm-6:00 pm and April 13 & 20, 2019 from 10:00 am-2:00 pm.

Detroit Public Safety Academy

The Detroit Public Safety Academy, authorized by Eastern Michigan University, is the first (and only) school of its kind in Michigan.

Along with excellent academics, students learn about careers in Law Enforcement, Fire, Emergency Medical Services and others. 

We partner with Federal, State and Local public safety agencies such as; Detroit Police Department, Detroit Fire Department, Wayne County Sheriff, Michigan State Police, US Border Patrol, Federal Emergency Management Agency, US Coast Guard, Immigration and Customs Enforcement, US Marshals and more.

Our cadets earn certificates in various courses related to public safety as well as college credits toward an advanced degree.

Detroit Public Safety Academy is very proud of its Character Education component as well. Students will learn the importance of qualities such as Leadership, Initiative, Responsibility, Teamwork, Integrity, Sacrifice, and Respect.
